::vow of chastity

  1. i will not franchise truth.
    {meaning is produced in the life of the community}

  2. i will be in and of communities that i do not control.
    {control subverts itself}

  3. i will not pander to a utopian past or a future that is an excuse for the present.
    {my life will be lived fully in the normal engagements of this place and time}

  4. i will be intentionally inside a complex of stories recognizing that from these my life unintentionally flows.
    {there is no outside-of-the-narrative}

  5. i will not engage in programmed community.
    {community is slow brewed, single batch collections of internetworked life}

  6. i will privilege a creative embrace of real living.
    {anything that can be purchased is not friendship, truth, meaning, community, life, love or spirituality}

  7. i will never use age as an exclusive filter for anything.
    {there are no stages of life; there is only life}

  8. i will privilege a playful, egalitarian embrace of responsibility and sacrifice.
    {awakening to the already-received life is affirmed in giving.}

  9. i will not artificially create nor in any way protect exclusive titles, roles or capabilities that privilege a self-perpetuating elite.
    {there is no self-evident order}

  10. i will find my voice where i am, speak my perspective in how i live and help others do the same.
    {all meaningful gathering, reflection, production and consumption are a communally engaged, sampled, unsigned endeavor}
in taking this vow of chastity i swear to engage the instant as more important than the whole; as the only part of what is called, "the whole," that i will ever have volitional access to.

my supreme goal is to live well; allowing meaning to emerge in the truth of real events.

i swear to do so by all means available and at the cost of perceived good taste and aesthetic considerations.
